Cristiano Ronaldo Receives Guinness World Record For Most International Goals

After becoming the first footballer to achieve 111 international goals, Cristiano Ronaldo poses with his Guinness World Record award.

On Wednesday, he scored two world-record-breaking goals in Portugal's 2 – 1 World Cup qualification victory.

Between the years 2003 and 2021, he set the Guinness World Record for the most goals scored by an international footballer.

Ronaldo showed his thanks for being recognized as the world record breaker in international football as he posed with the certificate.

”I'd like to express my gratitude to Guiness World Records. It's always satisfying to be recognized as a world record holder. Let's keep attempting to raise the stakes,” he remarked on Instagram.

In the 89th minute of Portugal's World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland, the newly minted Manchester United star set a new record. Goncalo Guedes swung in a cross from the right side, and Ronaldo rose to meet it and head in a world-record-tying equalizer.

In the sixth minute of stoppage time, he scored his 111th international goal, bringing his side to a 2-1 comeback victory.

On one of the most unforgettable moments of a career packed with them, the Portuguese legend tore his shirt off in wild joy.
