School Students Stab Their Colleague To Death [Photos]

Police in Ghana have detained five students from Konongo Odumase Senior High School for allegedly stabbing a colleague to death.

Their arrest was confirmed by the Konongo District Police Command in the Ashanti area. It was alleged that the deceased was stabbed to death after a fight broke out between him and the other "notorious students".

After a violent dispute, the main suspect, identified as Emmanuel Frimpong, is reported to have stabbed Larhan Sam'un to death with a sharp scissors.

"These five suspects who are all in form two ganged up and decided to go and bully the form-one kids and assault some of them," DSP Osei Adu Agyemang, the District Police Commander for Konongo, told CITI News. First-year students who felt the action was unjustified fought back and were able to free one student from the clutches of the five accused. The five suspects were enraged by this move, and one of them, Emmanuel Frimpong, attempted to slap one of the first-year pupils.

"At this point, Larhan Sam'un, who was nearby, intervened and stopped Osei Frimpong. This infuriated the primary suspect, who then brought out a small kitchen knife from his pocket and stabbed the Larhan Sam'un in the lower left rib. The victim began to bleed heavily and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. All five suspects have been apprehended, and the blood-stained little kitchen knife has been recovered."

The students are still in the police custody pending investigations.
