NYSC prohibits unvaccinated corps members from attending camps around the country.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has prohibited unvaccinated corps members from participating in any of its activities around the country.
Shuaibu Ibrahim, the director-general of NYSC, made the statement while speaking to 2021 Batch "C" Stream Two Corps Members and Camp Officials.
According to Ibrahim, the change will take effect at the next orientation camp, which is coming up shortly.
Potential members must provide confirmation of coronavirus vaccination before registering for the corps, he added.
Because the Omicron COVID variant was discovered in the country, the DG noted that the scheme is taking this precaution to prevent the disease from spreading.
He emphasized the need of a two-week sabbatical after leaving Orientation Camp, and advised corps members to add value to themselves by acquiring skills that will enable them to become company owners, rather than seeking for jobs.
