Award-winning Nigerian artist Ahmed Ololade, better known by his stage name Asake, recently invested a substantial sum of money in his career by buying a 2023 G-Wagon.
At over $179,000, the opulent SUV is a tribute to Asake's rising stardom in the music business.
The purchase comes just weeks after Asake won two awards at the 16th annual Headies, Nigeria’s biggest music awards ceremony.
He beat Burna Boy, Omah Lay, and Davido, three of the biggest names in Nigerian music, to win the awards for Album of the Year and Next Rated Artist.
Asake's accomplishments extend beyond the charts. He has also achieved commercial success. In April 2023, the 20,000-seat O2 Arena in London was sold out. With this achievement, he became one of the rare Nigerian musicians to ever sell out the arena.
The G-Wagon that Asake bought is evidence of his rising fortune and stature in the Nigerian entertainment sector. It also represents the growing wealth of African artists.
As African artists become more successful, they are able to afford to buy the finer things in life, such as luxury cars.
Celebrities in Nigeria are known to prefer G-Wagon, and Asake is the most recent to add one to his collection.
