After another student witnessed a high school teacher having s£x with a pupil in his classroom, the instructor was taken into custody.
Chad Allen Rodriguez, a 38-year-old Texas physics and astronomy instructor, was charged on Saturday, May 16, with a second-degree felony for having s£x with a 17-year-old girl. Rodriguez may spend up to 20 years behind bars.
After meeting the girl in October of last year, the teacher—who also coaches football and track at San Antonio's John Jay High School—began making advances toward her, according to WOAI.
Authorities claim that after that, they began meeting in the teacher's classroom for s£x and texting each other with X-rated photos and videos.
According to the court documents, the hookups were discovered last Thursday when another student noticed them alone in his classroom. However, the court documents did not specify what the other student witnessed to arouse concerns.
However, according to the court records, the girl left after being noticed and later told police that she had intercourse with the teacher.
According to the district, which claimed to be "cooperating fully with law enforcement", Rodriguez was placed on leave from the school where he had worked for ten years.
