Nollywood actress and content creator Funke Akindele-Bello took to Instagram to celebrate 14 years of playing the 'Jenifa' character.
In the comedy-drama film Jenifa, Funke Akindele played a 'local girl' from the village who journeys to Lagos in search of a 'better life.'
The film was a big success, and she did an excellent job of capitalizing on its potential by using it to inspire her ongoing television series Jenifa's Diary.
Jenifa's Diary, which features famous musicians like Lota Chukwu, Folarin Falana (Falz Da Bad Guy), Lolo, JJC Skillz, and others, has become a household name in most Nigerian homes.
On her Instagram page, Funke Akindele expressed her thanks to her fans for their support throughout the years.
She wrote: "Been playing the #jenifa character for 14 years!!"
