There are some Nigerian mothers you simply do not test, and this story is proof.
A lady recently took to social media to share a dramatic childhood memory that has since gone viral, and honestly, once you hear what happened, you'll understand exactly why her mother did what she did.
It all started when the school called home that her younger sister had suddenly fallen ill and needed to be picked up.
Their mother, who had been at work, dropped everything and rushed over. What she found when she got there was not a child who had simply fallen sick. The little girl had been flogged so severely by a female staff member that she had vomited and was running a fever.
All of that over a failed quiz.
As the lady told it, their mother said absolutely nothing. She left the school, went straight to a nearby shop, and bought four brand new canes; then she walked back in.
"Unfortunately for the aunty, my mum caught her off guard in the school compound, broke all four canes on her body and then continued with her hands. The aunty saw pepper that day," she recounted.
The story has sparked a massive conversation online about corporal punishment in Nigerian schools, with many people sharing similar experiences and more than a few admitting they would have done the same thing if they were that mother.
Because at the end of the day, there is absolutely no quiz on earth worth flogging a child into a fever.
