Yoruba Activist ‘Sunday Igboho’ Demands N500m Compensation From Federal Government For Damage To His Properties

Sunday Igboho, the persecuted Yoruba nation campaigner, has estimated his losses from the DSS raid on his Ibadan flat on July 1 to be worth N500 million.

Igboho revealed this in a letter to the federal government through his counsel, Chief Yomi Alliyu (SAN). The activist demanded a public apology and a probe into the security officials' behavior, which he described as a violation of his fundamental rights during the raid on his home.

According to Alliyu, individuals detained at Igboho's home were tortured in order to incriminate him, and firearms and ammunition were discovered in his home.

“Sunday Igboho knew he was going to be arrested one day, so he hired us. He couldn't possibly be that stupid to have incriminating items in his home!

“Our client's home is a five-bedroom duplex with five two- and three-bedroom cabins. These were completely destroyed, with agents allegedly debating whether or not to burn down the structure, as they had done with his prior opulent home. The female officer is said to have stood firm against arson.”
