King Of Madness, A Nigerian Singer, Plans To Sue The Police For N500 Million.

After being released by the Lagos State Police Command, the singer confirmed this in an interview with The Punch.

In mid-July, the performer was paraded as a criminal suspect at the command headquarters.

Uchechukwu described his arrest, saying that about 10.45 p.m., police officers stopped the Uber ride he had taken to a show in Lekki.

“It was not even up 11pm when the police stopped me
“I am too classy and they can’t see me and not stop me but after all the search, they didn’t see any exhibit on me.
“They now said the DPO wanted to see me that I have constituted (a) nuisance,” he said.

Muyiwa Adejobi, the state Police Public Relations Officer, later stated,

“The King of Madness has been released; he was released after a proper background check on him. We discovered that he has a means of livelihood like many others.”

King of Madness, on the other hand, stated that he would sue the police for damages for the humiliation.

“They want to send me to jail for an offence I didn’t commit. For the first time in my life, I felt really bad,” he said, adding that the police failed to respect “human rights”.

“They just added me up to some of their criminals so that it will be like they caught many criminals, that is a big lie. And I will be suing the police for N500m. My identity does not define me, my hair does not define me, my tattoo does not define me, I am an educated citizen of Nigeria,” the artiste stated.
