Woman Stabs Her Boyfriend To Death After Finding Him With Another Woman [Photo]

Juscah Mheleni, 24, has been accused of stabbing her lover to death with a broken beer bottle in Majeje village, Lulekani, South Africa, on Saturday.

The suspect allegedly received information that her boyfriend was with another lady near a liquor store in the neighborhood, so she rushed to the store and found him with the unidentified woman.

After a dispute, the suspect allegedly stabbed the boyfriend with a beer bottle.

Paramedics declared the victim, who was 36 years old, dead on the spot. Later, the suspect surrendered to the police at Namakgale.

On Tuesday morning, August 10, Mheleni was charged at Lulekani Magistrate court on a charge of murder.

She was remanded in jail for profiling until August 13, 2021, pending further police investigations.

Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, has strongly denounced the incident and urged community members to use legal procedures to resolve relationship issues.

“Community members are being advised not to take the law into their hands in the aftermath of this tragedy, and they must allow the police to handle the matter without interference,” stated Lieutenant General Hadebe.

Meanwhile, Limpopo's Minister of Social Development, Nkakareng Rakgoale, has strongly condemned the incident.

MEC Rakgoale says it's upsetting to learn about such an occurrence at a time South Africa is commemorating women's month.

“It's upsetting to learn about occurrences like these during the month of August, when we're meant to be honoring and celebrating women. Women are not the only ones who suffer from gender-based violence. In reality, today's women must follow in the footsteps of the women of 1956 and handle conflicts in a more peaceful manner,” she remarked.

“A team of social workers has been dispatched by the department to provide psychosocial support to the victim's family as well as other affected parties. We urge those who are having troubles in their relationships to seek professional help from our social workers rather than resorting to violence. Now that the suspect has been apprehended, justice will be served.” she added.
