Antoine Griezmann has completed his surprise return to Atletico Madrid on Deadline Day on loan from Barcelona.
Griezmann, 30, spent five seasons at Atletico Madrid before joining Barcelona in 2019 for a reported €120 million fee. He made 102 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 35 goals and assisting on 17 occasions.
Griezmann has started all three of Barcelona's league games this season, against Real Sociedad, Athletic Bilbao, and Getafe.
He has joined Atletico on a season-long loan, with both clubs having the option to extend the agreement for another season, with the Catalan club adding that Atletico also had the obligation to make the deal permanent.
This permanent deal, according to Sky in Italy, would cost £34.4 million (€40 million).
Atletico were able to sign the 30-year-old because Chelsea approved Saul Niguez's loan with an option to buy worth £33.4 million (€38.9 million).
Diego Simeone was keen to sign a new striker before Griezmann decided to return to the club.
