Peter Nwachukwu, the embattled husband of late gospel singer, Osinachi, has said that she died of lung cancer.
The defendant made this statement on Friday, June 3, shortly after being arraigned in a Federal Capital Territory High Court on a 23-count charge that bordered on culpable homicide.
The defendant, whose wife reportedly died as a result of his prolonged attack, pled not guilty to all of the claims included in the complaint brought against him by the Federal Government.
Following Nwachukwu's declaration of innocence, Justice Njideka Nwosu-Iheme ordered his remand in the Kuje Correctional Centre in a brief judgment, adjourning the case till June 16 and 17.
Recall that Osinachi died on April 8, 2022 after spending some time on life support.
In response to the heinous crime that resulted to her death, Anselm Madubuko, Senior Pastor of the Revival Assembly Church Lagos, claimed religion murdered the Ekwueme crooner.
Since her death, there have been claims that she died as a result of her husband's gender-based violence (GBV).
Taking to his official Facebook page on Monday April 11, Pastor Madubuko also predicted more separations and divorces among couples.
“Religion killed Osinachi”, he wrote. Adding, ” Eisssssh.. Coming soon. Separations and Divorces… Brace up guys. So help us dear Lord!. As long as we believe that knowing Jesus alone is not enough for heaven, people will keep dying out of fear.”
