watching Netflix, and still dreaming.

you want to keep dreaming?

What is Success in Life?
In life, success is whatever you define it to be. You may
want to decide how to be successful in achieving financial independence or
a flexible work schedule.
Some may want to travel the globe, while others only want to
do what they are passionate about.
Being successful is not necessarily about winning awards or
being rich; it can also be about personal fulfillment.
If you had to customize your perfect day, what would it look
like?
Will you be sitting next to a lake on a bench writing your
memoir? Do you imagine climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and taking that huge, deep
breath as soon as you reach the top? Or maybe you just want to spend a whole day
playing with your children?
Why you want to know how to be successful in life will be
personal to you. Your spouse, parents, and friends might have
their definition of success. However, their definitions are not for
you.
Whatever it is that will make you feel happy and fulfilled
is what you need to concentrate on while mastering the art of becoming a
success.
Importance of Success
Many people are concerned with success, and we all want
to feel like we matter.
Without success, we might look back on our lives,
disappointed by our lack of impact on the world.
Striving for a greater goal is what keeps us striving to
survive and grow.
While you might not become an international success, you can
still have a positive impact on others.
The goal of achieving success would help you live a more
purposeful life by encouraging you to tackle challenges, strive a little harder,
and find happiness.
How Can I Become Successful?
The truth is, you will probably never become successful.
I'm not saying this to be a jerk; I'm saying it because the
odds are stacked against you.
On the positive side, learning how to be successful has
never been easier. There have never been more millionaires in the world than
there are today.
Also, I'm hoping that by telling you that you will
never be successful, you'll think to yourself, "Man, this author
is a jerk." I want to prove him wrong so that a few months from
now, I can leave a nasty message telling him that he is so wrong
about me.'
Do it. Prove me wrong!
I've found that getting a chip on my shoulder in my career
and being angry at the world has helped me evolve faster than anyone else.
I like to think I'm the world's greatest failure with
everything to prove.
If anyone doubts me, what I do is prove them wrong.
As I always say, "Don't piss me off, because I'll
always win when I'm angry."
But the truth is, I secretly love it when people diss
me.
Nothing will motivate you better than a fuming rage
deep inside you.
So, here is your diss: You waste too much time
pretending to be 'researching or studying or looking for motivation' on
unimportant tasks. But the fact is, you're slacking. And until you START
Practicing, you're never going to get your act together. So, if you want to pay
your bills or travel the world, it's never going to happen if you never take
the first step.
How to Be Successful
in Life – Eight Ways to Be Successful in Life
1.
Stop Looking for the Silver Bullet
The silver bullet is that you need to work every
day for years.
It isn't some Facebook ads hack. Or some magical 2000USD
conference.
But no matter how many times people tell you that, you
are still going to dig around for the elusive answer.
Why?
Because you don't want to put in the work.
You want to be a success overnight.
Not gonna happen, though.
So if I were you, I would start creating.
2.
Start Creating Better Goals
'My target is to make a ton of money.'
And you are wondering why you haven't achieved it yet.
Your target isn't actionable.
And honestly, it isn't that motivating either.
Money is important and all, but it's not going to leave
you happy.
What's your big life purpose?
Perhaps being successful means taking steps to clean up the
world's ocean or prevent the extinction of animals.
How do you do that?
Well, you need money, and that is where your money goal
comes into play.
How much money do you need to help solve those issues?
Get a calculator, reach out to some nonprofits and start
crunching numbers.
Use that exact number as your goal.
Then add an exact date to it.
'By December 31st, 2021, I intend to make $103,476.37 to
invest in cleaning the oceans of the world so we can protect ocean life and provide
clean drinking water.'
You have a clear objective now, a date to accomplish it, and
a purpose of achieving it.
3.
Stop Looking for Validation
If you're searching for ways to be successful in life, you will not
find it in the people around you. Otherwise, everyone around you is a huge
success.
Your dad, mom, best friend, partner, and dog do not need to
approve your business ideas.
Live life your way. Stop looking for validation from
others that you're on the right track.
Wanna know how you are on the right track?
When you ask yourself, 'Am I living the life I want?'
If the answer is yes, you are on the right track.
If the answer is no, you have some adjustments to make.
Do not let outsiders cloud your thinking.
People always think they know what's best for you.
But only you would know what that is.
Trust yourself a little bit more, and you will realize that
you know what you are doing.
4.
Start Living Your Dreams
Being successful in life is not about a magical moment when
everything falls into place.
It is about the little moments in between.
Moments in which you're happy. Moments that you are soaking
in.
The reality is, you can experience those moments even if you
are currently stuck in a 9 to 5.
If you aim to run an online business, you've got evenings
and weekends where you can start plugging away.
You may want to be a digital nomad, so you can speak to your
boss about working remotely for three weeks while working overseas.
I know what you are thinking, you want it all, and you
want it now.
But the fact is that unless you don't take these baby steps,
you just won't know whether it's something that you want or something you think
you want.
You can still start trying to figure out a strategy for
success, whether you are at a 9 to 5 or not.
I'm not saying remain at your 9 to 5
if you are miserable. I'm just saying that 9 to 5 on
it isn't necessarily the only cause of your unhappiness or
frustration.
5.
Stop Looking for a Mentor
There is nothing wrong with mentorship. Actually, it
can be great for building your career.
Many people don't want mentorship, but they want someone to
do all the work for them.
Entrepreneurship and being successful are all about taking
ownership.
You talk a big game about having freedom, but you ask
for so much feedback when it comes to designing your first store.
But what you need to know is that the best thing about
entrepreneurship is that you can develop your business any way you
want.
And if you have a mentor to help you make decisions, it's
practically like having your work controlled by a boss-you begin to lose that
freedom you wanted.
If you constantly have people guiding you on your path,
your wins are not your wins, and your losses are not your losses.
If you don't take ownership of your losses and wins,
you never really get that 'OMG! I DID IT!' feeling.
And you never learn from your mistakes either,
because they were not your mistakes in the first place.
You are going to make terrible decisions, but you're
still going to make some amazing ones.
You do not need a mentor to teach you how to be successful,
especially if your ambition is to live life on your terms.
6.
Start Building Your Expertise
You do not have to be the best on day one.
However, you can start building up to it.
If you constantly take the time to invest in your progress
every day, you will be amazed by your success a year from now.
If you are running online stores, take the time to
study and try out various marketing hacks.
You'll probably see that you've been building up your
sales by sticking it out for a year.
If you are a writer, write every day for a year.
You'll probably notice that you've started to amass a loyal
following by trying out various writing styles and pumping out quality
material.
Building your expertise requires effort.
And your expertise will allow you to find your answer to the
question of how to be successful.
7.
Stop Blocking Yourself
Roadblocks, bad days, setbacks, procrastination: what do
they have in common?
They are all in your head.
I'm so used to roadblocks that my immediate reaction is
always to find the solution.
I've done some weird stuff just to jump over barriers.
I had a bad day yesterday, and then halfway through the day,
I realized I just had a bad sleep the night before, and I just
started laughing. Why? Because I understood that the solution to my
problem was easy. All I needed to do was go to bed
earlier that night. And the next day? It was like the bad
day had ever occurred.
An external force can never block your success.
There is always a workaround solution.
And that remedy almost comes from eliminating a
mental barrier in your head.
Change your perspective if you need to change anything about
yourself.
8.
Start Doing
You can not achieve success if you have done nothing.
There is no big financial reward just for showing up.
You need to put in the energy and time into building
something.
After all, the most successful people are all creators.
Jeff Bezos created Amazon. Sara Blakely created Spanx. Mark
Zuckerberg created Facebook.
And if you dedicate your life to becoming a creator, you
could gradually start seeing what it takes to be successful.
However, it does take time and consistent effort.
I know that just putting on Netflix and turning your brain
off after a day of work is easier, but the results you want to see come from
keeping your brain on after hours. By outworking those who are around you.
Being successful comes down to you.
I could perhaps list a million more tricks about how to be
successful in life, but if you are not willing to do the job, it won't pay
off.
STEPS TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL
We seem to want stuff fast in this day and age. It's all
about instant gratification, from weight loss to internet speed to your latest
email or text reply. This also applies to the career sphere, where individuals
seem to want to make money and become successful ASAP.
In reality, there's no single hidden hack that's going to
make you succeed overnight. However, you can take some constructive steps
in your career that can help you streamline your path towards
success. Try these tips to become successful faster:
1. Set concrete goals.
To become successful, you first need a road map for your
career. After all, you can not take shortcuts if there is no endpoint
in mind. The concept of success is different for everybody, so it
is important to be specific about your personal goals. What do you want to
accomplish in your career? Be as precise as you can, so it's only
when you have established concrete goals to build actionable steps towards
them.
Big, long-term goals allow you to build a framework for your
career. With goals in mind, you can establish mini-goals that serve as
realistic milestones. By setting the bar high, you will still have a source of
motivation to work hard, which will help you become successful.
2. Develop a routine, and stick to it.
Most successful individuals already know this: repetition
has a major advantage. Routines keep you going forward and help you continue to
expand. For one thing, it's much easier to track your progress over time if you
follow a routine.
A routine helps you develop good habits that can
boost your career fairly quickly.
For example, say your routine is to read publications
connected to your career path for an hour after dinner every night. If you set
aside specific times for specific tasks aside, it will be like muscle
memory after a while. With positive routines in place, you'll start
to see results rapidly.
3. Find a mentor.
There is what all highly successful people have in common:
they have a mentor. A mentor is someone who is on the same career path as
you; however, further along. They can provide relevant knowledge and
advice on your chosen career path from a point of experience.
They can even guide you on things like how to avoid possible
pitfalls and how to approach your career's next steps. Also, a mentor will
encourage networking between you and those who can also help further your
career. Having a mentor can benefit you in many ways and can completely help
you achieve success faster than if you had no guidance.
4. Streamline your routine.
What if I told you that you could simplify your life and
avoid roadblocks that prevent you from being successful by doing less? Positive
routines will enable you to move quicker in your career.
But bad habits and time-wasting routines can have the
reverse effect. But do you streamline your routine to eradicate bad
habits?
First, consider all the stuff that takes up your time to
further your career. You know, stuff like checking Twitter every few
minutes or searching Amazon when you're supposed to be working. Work hard
to either remove them or at least hold them in check once you've recognized
these time sponges. It takes discipline to eliminate distractions,
but you'll be able to concentrate more, which will get you a whole lot quicker
where you want to go career-wise.
5. Learn how to say no.
I cannot give you a surefire formula for success, but I can
give you a formula for failure: try to satisfy everybody all the time,"
Writer Herbert Bayard Swope mused."
It is easy to say yes, and it is gratifying. But if you
say yes to too much, you might as well be sucked dry. If you're a yes person,
you probably agree to take so many projects and commitments. Or
you're the kind of person who agrees to things quickly and then flakes out at
the last minute. Either way, these tendencies are not doing you any favors in
terms of career development.
It can be tough to say no, but it is usually better in the
long run. This indicates integrity, and you will not find yourself wasting time
doing things that are not advancing your career.
6. Be smart about money.
It is difficult to move ahead when you are always
playing catch-up or living paycheck to paycheck. You need to get smart about
saving money if you want to become successful.
Do yourself a solid and put away some of every paycheck in
your savings account. Yeah, it may be boring, but a little restraint now
can add up to success in the nearest future. Sometimes, successful
individuals live beyond their means. They don't intend to be stingy, but
because they know that making money sometimes takes money, they
always want to be prepared.
Because you are smart about saving money, you will
expand over time with a safety net. You'll be ready to move fast and do so
without breaking the bank when it comes to making an investment or starting up
a business venture.
7. Learn from your mistakes.
"As Truman Capote once wrote, "Failure is the
condiment that gives its success its flavor." The more you explore out of
your comfort zone as an entrepreneur, the greater the possibility of
making mistakes.
If you want to become successful, you can't let these missteps
crush you or break you down. Instead of seeing them as the world's end, can you
see them as an opportunity? Failures can be our best teachers. After all,
what feels like a failure today could teach you a lesson that will help you
prevent a much bigger failure in the future.
Concentrate on progress, not perfection. You'll become
stronger and more savvy if you can learn from your mistakes, which can help you
become successful.
