Chelsea Owner, Roman Abramovich Seeks To Sign Lionel Messi

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is apparently seeking to sign Lionel Messi following the statement released by barcelona revealing the club and the super star have part ways.
Abramovich is believed to have ‘requested an urgent meeting' with Messi's representatives, according to sources.
Barcelona stated on Thursday, August 5 that Messi, 34, will quit the club after 21 years as his contract will not be renewed due to financial constraints in Spain.
As a result, Messi has become a free agent, with Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain vying for his signature.
PSG, on the other hand, may not be able to satisfy his pay demands, while City have already spent £100 million on Jack Grealish an also pursuing Harry Kane for £150 million.

Abramovich has reportedly "set his eyes" on Messi and "asked an urgent meeting" with his team, according to the renowned AS in Spain.

The Blues are looking for a new striker, with Erling Haaland being a top target at the start of the summer.
Haaland is expected to remain at Borussia Dortmund, with Chelsea focusing their attention on Inter's Romelu Lukaku.
However, the unexpected news of Messi's sudden availability has shifted Chelsea's focus in the transfer window, with the club continuing to negotiate for Lukaku while also examining the prospect of acquiring Messi.

A transfer to France, according to the article, is "virtually unthinkable" due to hefty taxes and the club's need to cut costs.

Messi has been linked with a move to City, where the renowned forward may reunite with former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola. Chelsea's interest, though, may alter the course of events because the club now has a stronger financial position to buy Messi.
