Nigeria's federal government has stated that the ban on Twitter will be lifted in a matter of days.
The revelation was made by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, during a press conference immediately after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.
Mohammed added that the government's negotiations with the microblogging platform are already advanced, and that the platform has accepted the majority of the constraints imposed on it.
He indicated that putting up an office and having a Twitter staff of management cadre that will function as the country representative are still on the table.
The Minister expressed confidence that all outstanding concerns would be addressed within a few days or weeks.
