Mr Patrick Areghan, the Head of Nigeria Office, announced this at a press conference on Tuesday, August 10 to reveal preparations for the 2021 WASSCE.
He said the move was in keeping with the Federal Government's policy, which was mandated by the Federal Ministry of Education.Areghan said;
“As we move in the performance of the Council's business in Nigeria, NIN will become a major condition for registration for the WASSCE examination with effect from the WASSCE for School Candidates, 2022 and future diets (No NIN, no entry!)

”In accordance with the final international calendar, our WASSCE 2021 will begin on Monday, August 16 across the sub-region.
”However, the examination in Nigeria will end on September 30 after a seven-week period.
”According to examination statistics, a total of 19,425 recognized secondary schools, consisting of 8.052 public and 11,373 private schools, would submit a total of 1,573,789 candidates across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
”For the examination, there are 792,620 males (50.36 percent) and 781,169 females (49.64 percent).
”Candidates would be assessed across 76 subjects and 197 papers. As supervisors, around 25,000 senior teachers will take part in the examination.”
