Barcelona has reportedly banned Lionel Messi from training until he signs a new contract with the Spanish club.
Although the Argentina international has been a free agent since July 1, he is expected to re-sign with the Catalan giants.
Despite initial reports that Messi would sign a five-year contract after being forced to accept a 50% pay cut to stay at the Nou Camp, he has yet to do so due to Barcelona's financial difficulties.
His previous contract expired on June 30, making him a free agent as of July 1, but he is unlikely to agree on terms in another club.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, the Barcelona forward will not train with his club until a new contract is signed.
