The deceased and suspect
Mrs. Patience Komone, a 50-year-old woman from Umeh community in Delta State's Isoko South Local Government Area, was assassinated by suspected ritualists.
The deceased's eyes and private parts were allegedly removed by the suspected ritualists, who then dumped her body in a bush in the neighborhood.
Pat, a native of Otughievwen, Ughelli South Local Government Area, has been missing since Tuesday, July 27th, when she left her home in Umeh to buy pepper and other vegetables for sale along Sapele Road, Effurun, Uvwie.
The woman's decomposing body was discovered in the bush on Tuesday, following the arrest of one suspect, Onoriode Simon Akpoavirhi, 25, the Okada rider who carried her on that fateful day, according to State Commissioner of Police Ari Mohammed Ali, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday, August 4.
The suspect was detained along with sixteen others around the state for kidnapping, armed robbery, and cultism.
During questioning, the suspect admitted to killing the missing woman in collusion with one Akpoghene Shoemaker, who is still at large. They raped her and robbed her of forty thousand dollars before murdering her with a machete.
The suspect further admitted that they were hired by one lucky Daniel of Ohoro town to carry the body parts for him after he paid them one hundred thousand naira (N100,000).

"The DPO enlisted the help of police officers, vigilantes, and community leaders, who collaborated and gathered information on the case. Acting on a tip, One Onos Simon m' age 25yrs an Okada guy was detained on 3/8/2021 at around 1300hours. The Okada rider was the same person who carried the woman on that same day. During interrogation, the suspect admitted to killing Mrs. Patience Komore, a missing woman, in collusion with one Akpoghene Shoemaker ‘m', who is still at large.
"They raped her and robbed her of forty thousand dollars before murdering her with a machete. They not only killed her, but they also took her eyes and intimate parts for ritual reasons. Suspects further admitted that one lucky Daniel of Ohoro town paid them one hundred thousand naira (#100,000) to carry the body part for him.
"The rotting body was discovered and taken to the mortuary. Members of the public are urged to provide beneficial information to the police that will lead to the capture of the fugitive Akpoghene shoemaker and happy Daniel "he added.
