According to the Nigerian Tribune, more than 50 bodies have been taken from the church, with many more being treated at the Federal Medical Center in Owo.

According to a source, the congregation were caught off guard, and the death toll might grow as several worshipers who were transported to the hospital died.

He went on to say that the attackers utilized explosives within the church's compound, but that the majority of the individuals were injured by gunfire.

The killers are alleged to have departed the site after carrying out the murders, which left a large number of victims dead.

Some dead bodies were saturated in blood in the church, according to graphic photographs and videos released online.

According to a nurse at Owo who spoke to the newspaper on the condition of anonymity, there were insufficient medical staff on the ground to respond to the wounded at the hospital's emergency unit, and some of the patients were transported to a private hospital.
