According to officials, a mountain lion cub wandered into a California high school on June 1 and had to be safely trapped in a classroom by a custodian.
According to Detective Javier Acosta of the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office, a custodian was trying to open Pescadero High School for the school day when the cub was noticed.
According to detectives, janitors captured the animal in one classroom and tranquilized it before transporting it out of the building.

It’s unclear how the cub came to enter the school, which is located about 30 miles west of San Jose.
According to the Oakland Zoo, which is now caring for the infant mountain lion, the cub was likely an orphan aged 6 to 8 months.
At the time the animal was discovered, no children or teachers were present on the school grounds.

‘Staff and Deputies have been able to isolate the puma to a classroom and there is no immediate threat,’ the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said in a post to social media.
According to zoo authorities, the cub has been transported to the Oakland Zoo because it is too young to thrive on its own.
Mountain lions spend their first two years of life learning from their mothers, and no other mountain lions have been seen near the school.
