Following her most recent social media post, Nollywood actress and politician Funke Akindele raised concern among her followers.
The mother of two, who unsuccessfully stood for the position of Deputy Governor in Lagos in the most recent election, commented about depression on Wednesday via her Twitter account and urged people to be kind to one another.
She also encouraged people who are experiencing depression to speak up.
She said,
“Depression is real. Please be kind to others. Yes, don’t trade your happiness with anything, but still, be humane in all you do. We are all on a journey in this world. Be conscious. Be aware. Share. Make peace. Take risks and be grateful for success and victory. Yet be aware, love, forgive, and stay happy. for success and victory. Yet be aware, love, forgive, and stay happy.”
In reaction to the tweet, several internet users went to the comment area to show worry for Funke and inquire as to how she was doing.
@abayomiibitunde, a Twitter user, tweeted: "Hope you are doing well, Funke? Please be alright. If you need to vent, feel free to talk to dependable people. Be at ease.
"Big mummy, I hope you are fine," said @dreychino, another anxious follower. You must exert strength for us! Keep being kind to yourself, mother.
"How much have you lost for the election that makes you depressed, madam?" said @now14128311. Keep your head up; better days are coming.
