Ramon Abbas a.k.a. Ray Hushpuppi, a Nigerian Instagram sensation, has pled guilty to scheming to commit fraud through corporate email hack frauds as well as other internet heists.
Hushpuppi currently faces up to 20 years in prison, according to journalist Evan Ratiff, who published records of the agreement. The agreement he signed is only valid on the US Attorney's Office and not on other federal, state, municipal, or international prosecuting agencies.
He will no longer contest the points made in the agreement and will comply with all sentencing agreements. Hushpuppi is also expected to be honest with the US probation and pretrial services office and the court at all times.
The Instagram sensation will pay close to $1.7 million in restitution, but this amount could fluctuate depending on new information discovered before sentencing.
