“Breakfast is ready...” said Lara. Lara cooed as she assisted Tony in rising from his bed.
He had been keeping a careful eye on her since he returned from the hospital, and she had been nothing but supportive.
He had always pictured her retaliating for his wrongdoings now that he was powerless, but she proved him wrong.
He wasn't sure whether she had forgiven him because he hadn't even asked for it yet.
“I hope you don't mind if I put too much milk in your tea... You should drink a lot of milk, according to the doctor.” Lara gave him a cup of tea in a saucer with a smile.
He responded, almost in hushed tones, "Thank you."
“Your toast, boiled eggs, potato chips, fried plantains, and...,” says Lara. As she pushed a dish of food towards him, Lara mumbled.
“Is it just for me?” Tony's pupils dilated.
“Of course! The doctor advised that you have a well-balanced diet!” Tony never realized Lara had a sense of humor, according to Lara.
She joked, "Eat up while I get your bath water ready..."
“Err. Lara?” He looked into her eyes.
“Yes?” She shifted her gaze to his.
“I…err…
I...just...wanted to apologize for everything I did to you...
He muttered, "I'm..."
“Oh, please don't begin! Stop with the apologies!” Lara smirked.
“I'm not sure....
It's just...simply... it's
I don't think I'm deserving of your kindness...” he continued.
“Now, don't talk like that; I have no ill feelings toward you. Okay? Now eat and bathe, since you know your father will be here soon... “Remember you have a doctor's appointment today...huh?” she remarked sweetly
Tony held her stare for a few moments before she withdrew her gaze. She took a nice walk over to his bathroom.
