LARA'S FAITH (EPISODE 14)

Lara combed and greased her hair appropriately. She had informed her hairstylist that she would be arriving that morning.

She wasn't sure what hairstyle she'd plait this week; she'd loosed shuku the day before, so maybe two-step or sade this week...

“Lara?” Tony interrupted her thoughts with a shout.

She sighed and rolled her eyes. “oooooh, pesin rest again, ni?” She snorted.

“Lara...” she snarled once more, her irritation with Tony growing.

“Always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, always, She smirked.

“Are you there, Lara?” Tony yelled once more.

“Ooooh, jor, release me!” She muttered something.

“Yes? I'm on my way!” She worked hard to improve her voice's politeness.

She feigned a smile and said, "Here I am."

“As you can see...

I only wanted you to be in my presence.” He, too, was beaming.

Take a look at this one, o! What year did that one begin? Lara pondered.

He said, "Are you going out?"

“I'm going to make my hair,” she says. She elaborated.

“Hmmm, then I'd be alone...” he said, dejectedly.

“Well, I guess I'll have to leave now,” she said as she began walking away.

He groaned and said, "OK."

He was going to miss her terribly.

::::::*****:::::

Tony shifted his gaze from Funke, his mother-in-law, to his parents, wishing Lara was at home to defend him...

“Thank goodness your wife isn't here, so we can talk about it properly.” Ifiora started speaking.

“Her absence is critical,” says the narrator. Funke chimed in, thanking God Lara wasn't there because she couldn't stand seeing such expressions on her face.

“Errr...Tony, how does your wife feel about your illness?” Ifiora was the one who inquired.

Tony averted his gaze, unsure of what she wanted to say...

“Your father has just asked you a question, Tony.” Amara expressed her dissatisfaction with the situation.

“Nothing.” Tony was the one who responded.

“What exactly do you mean when you say nothing?” Funke inquired, his gaze fixed on him.

He scowled and said, "I think she should be in the best position to answer that." He had never had a single ounce of regard for his in-mother. law's

“Tony, you'll be out of the country for your treatment in two weeks...”

“I already knew that.” Tony shaved his father's beard.

He was perplexed as to why they had convened a meeting without alerting him beforehand.

“Good! The most important thing right now is Lara; we can't keep her like this, and she has a future.” Ifiora was unconcerned with his son's disrespect.

“What exactly is your point?” Tony inquired, his jaws clenched as he was on the verge of loosing his cool.

“The point is, you moron, you should divorce Lara!” Amara fired a shot at him.

Tony stared at her coldly for a long time, wondering when he and his mother had become enemies.

“I'm not going to be able to divorce her!” He spit out the contents of his stomach.

“Why?” Funke scowled.

“She is my wife, and I adore her; our union is complete. Gerrit!” He locked his gaze on Funke.

“Tony, pay attention to what I'm saying! You must divorce Lara, love or no love, seal or no seal! You can't put your disability on her! How far do you think she'll be able to take it?!” Amara said, threateningly.

“It's none of your business!” says the narrator. I'm curious whether you've ever been asked to divorce your husband!” Tony fired a shot at her.

“Do you dare to speak to me like that?” Amara was about to slap him if it hadn't been for her husband's prompt intervention.

“No, dear, you can't do that; have a look at his state.” Ifiora pushed his wife into her seat again.

“We're here to rule out some cases, not to fight Tony; Lara's mother came to us and requested that you divorce her daughter...” Ifiora made a motion towards Funke.

“Of course! Don't be ni! My daughter must be divorced, o! My daughter will not be able to marry an impotent man, o!

“Lai lai!” they exclaim. Funke began to rant.

Amara and her husband exchanged glances.

“I really meant it, o! It's me, Funke, who's talking! I need grandchildren, and you know they don't just appear out of nowhere! A man must perform ni, and if you can't, we'll find for someone else.” Funke's gold bangles made chirping sounds as she ranted.

Tony bit the insides of his lower lips. Life can be harsh at times.

“You're being so impolite!” This isn't the place for squabbles!” Amara made an attempt to calm Funke down.

“Robb ke!” exclaims the narrator. Ni ni ni ni ni ni ni ni The fight has only just begun, ni ye o! Tell your illegitimate son to divorce my daughter! Funke took a hard stance against Amara.

“Calm down, please.” Ifiora had informed her.

“Look at who's talking! As his father, so his son! Who knows, maybe you're an impotent as well?”

“You have no right to criticize my husband!” Amara retaliated with a shot.

“How did you get to be so bad? Is that the way you Yorubas act?”

“Behave yourself, ke!” You'll notice a change in conduct very soon! Allow me to go tell her father's family that now is when you'll see true Yoruba behavior. Oshi!” Before stamping out of the room, Funke yelled at her. Amara gave her a wide grin. Could this be the same woman on whom they wasted so much money? People change so quickly.
