In the parlour, Lara was curled up on the darduma. As she sobbed, she clutched her pillow hard. She'd been acting like this for days. Tony was kneeling alongside her as usual, wondering if her tear bank would ever be depleted.
Lara grumbled, "I should have listened to my mum."
Tony let out a sigh...
He reflected privately that he was back to square one.
“Thanks to you!” Lara sat up straight.
“It's all due of you!” “I damaged my relationship with my mother,” she said, waving her finger at him.
Tony took a step back as she became more aggressive.
“What haven't I done for you Tony? Is this the greatest way to make amends?” Her tears were salty, and she could taste it.
“I'm sorry, baby...” Tony said.
“If you call me baby again, thunder will strike!” Her eyes gleamed with rage.
“I'm sorry, but it's not what you believe...” He had pity for her.
“It's not what I believe, is it?” Please, please, please explain!”
“Seriously, Lara, I won't lie to you...
I didn't kiss her since she was the one kissing me...” Tony attempted to explain himself.
“It makes no difference! You kissed, that's the truth! And you had fun with it!” She snatched her pillow from the bedside table.
Tony clutched her arm and said, "Lara..."
She aggressively shoved him away.
“If you touch me again, I'm going to kill you!”
Tony locked his gaze on her; he'd never seen her act so ferociously before.
She murmured, "I wish I had spiritual powers!" Before strolling to her chamber, she yelled out, "I'd have made sure you get back on a wheel chair with your manhood cut out."
Tony was terrified as he watched her. He was terrified of becoming paralyzed once more. He'd heard rumors that Yoruba girls were witches...
He was curious as to what kind of severe wind had blown Sophia to the airport.
She stated she came to congratulate him and began by hugging him before kissing him.
He murmured as he sat on a settee, "Rubbish!"
He must have fallen asleep.
He jerked open his eyes as he felt something on his head, and his eyes widened as he saw a pistol nozzle.
He tried to stand up, but his chest was pulled down by a solid leg.
“Have you seen your wife?” a growling voice He did not respond.
Another voice said, "Are you deaf?"
When he turned back, he discovered that he was surrounded by five armed men.
” Why Una no bring the meat commot?” Walking into the room, another voice inquired.
One of the robbers said, "No boss, the guy no wan show us where she dey."
“Jor, search the area!” While the boss sat behind Tony, the five robbers were ordered to scatter in various directions.
When Tony heard Lara scream from her room, he jerked.
“Tony!” she cried once more.
He started to stand up, but the boss stopped him.
He placed a sharp knife on Tony's neck and said, "Don't move."
The robbers appeared, dragging Lara behind them, and flung her at their boss's feet, causing her to shriek.
“Wow, this babe is going to die!” screamed the boss.
“Please don't injure her; I'd do everything for you.” Tony pleaded his case.
“We didn't come for you, Mr. Man; we were hired to work on her.” The boss remarked this as he drew Lara closer to him.
She shuddered and cried tears down her face. His eyes met her fearful ones as he lifted her chin up. His eyes widened as he realized what had happened.
He was taken aback when he heard, "Lara the class monitor!"
She exclaimed, "Bayo?"
“How did you end up here?” He couldn't stop himself from inquiring.
She was exhausted, and the shock had rendered her entire body numb.
During her secondary school years, Bayo was her classmate and best buddy.
“Please accept my apologies for...
ummm... the...errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Bayo wiped her eyes and whispered.
He yelled at his grumbling guys, "Boys make we waka!"
He firmly said, sauntering towards the door, "Make we dey go jor!"
One of the youngsters inquired, "Just like that?"
“Abi wetin again?” We're not allowed to touch her, na! Just get us out of here!” Bayo was the one who responded.
“We can't trust her; she knows who you are, and she can phone the cops...” they complained once more.
“She isn't going to!” Bayo laughed.
He walked away, followed by his sons.
Tony cradled a sobbing Lara in his arms. She laid her head on his shoulders while closely clutching him.
He ushered her inside his room.
He kissed her tears dry, the salty taste tempting him to s—k more tears from her eyes.
As he groped for the zip fastener of her night robe, she held him securely...
